BABEIN MUMMAS WHO WEAR THEIR BUBBAS

Well, hello lovely people! I owe you all an apology for my absence. The last post that I shared, I was 26 weeks pregnant and can you believe my baby is now 13 months old. I have a beautiful baby boy who has his dad's eyes and cheeky smile. I can't say it's been smooth sailing the whole time, but its certainly the most rewarding and exciting time of my life.
I wanted to dedicate my first blog post as a mother to an amazing Melbourne based label babein. Since being introduced to the wonders of babywearing, extremely talented designer and mother Anne Freeman saw the lack of stylish babywear available on the market. She describes them as " B-to-the-ORING!"  This inspired her to create fun, quirky and chic printed wraps allowing mums to feel fashionable and stylish. Each babein  wrap is lovingly hand-crafted in Australian-made fabric to the highest quality by the skilled team The Social Studio based in Collingwood, Melbourne.  Not only do I adore the modern, funky prints, I admire the philosophy behind the manufacturing of the label.
As described on babein website, " The Social Studio is a safe place of belonging that strives to create awareness and change public perceptions for people who have experienced being a refugee. They create professional development and opportunity for young members of the community who are most in need of a voice, mode of expression and agency." If you are interested in supporting The Social Studio you can make a donation here.
I have styled some looks in the gorgeous Macro Leopard babein wrap below.  I have used a doll for this shoot as my little munchkin is too big for the wrap. I can't wait to use it for baby no. 2 though.
Check out these fun looks I've styled with the amazing babein collection.

Dressing for the bump

Hi everyone!!! Time is flying by and I can't believe I am 26 weeks pregnant. It feels like yesterday when I was trying to hide my bump for the traditional first 12 weeks.
I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the available maternity wear options out there. If I am being honest I have only invested in maternity jeans from Jeanswest, which I have to say are incredibly comfortable! My style strategy has been selecting garments based on the fabric. The critical element here is to ensure they shape the body in the most flattering way possible and of course offer a high level of comfort.
Below I have styled a H&M maxi dress with a belt I got from our recent trip to Hong Kong (similar here or here). This look is not limited to maternity wear. See some similar looks I've styled below.

Happy shopping!

Dressing for Derby Day

Hello lovely people! I am now 25 weeks pregnant and feeling it, so I apologise for not sharing a post in so long.  Racing season is upon us and I am excited! There is something special about the atmosphere in Melbourne during Spring Racing Carnival. The weather is warmer, which appears to make people smile more and we are all being introduced to the very fun festive season to come.

Now as most of my followers are not pregnant I have styled some potential race looks for you.  I have started with my favourite race day of all, Derby Day. However I have broken the black and white tradition in one look for those happy to add a splash of colour. Most of the headpieces I have included are from the amazing brand Danica Erard Millinery. I love the simplicity and structure of these pieces. They seem to suit everyone.

Happy shopping lovely people! Remember to consider comfort as well as style. There is nothing less attractive than watching a lady fidget with her clothes and walk uncomfortably in their heels. We've all been there at some stage.

DUSTY PETALS RACES FASHION TIPS!
If you're looking for a spray tan in the comfort of your own home I recommend the mobile tanning service Sun Kissed Suse.
Also if you are interested in making your own headpieces or attending workshops be sure to visit House of Adorn. You'll be in heaven!

BOOHOO.COM Complete looks on a budget

Hello lovely people!!! I want to apologise for being a phantom. Thank you so much for the many emails I have received, I really appreciate it. For those of you who follow my Instagram you would have heard the news; I am pregnant!!! The first trimester was pretty intense as I suffered from morning sickness or should I say all day sickness! Thankfully as I have entered the second trimester I feel slightly more human.

On my return, I wanted to share the very affordable but chic online store boohoo.com. You can put a head to toe look together from boohoo.com for an absolute bargain without substituting style or quality. I am 15 weeks in the photos below and felt so comfortable in the boohoo pieces.

I have styled some affordable looks for you below. Happy Shopping!

Tartan Skirts & Turtlenecks

Hello lovely people. Well the cold weather has certainly hit Melbourne hard and it's time to officially dig out our winter wardrobes. I'm actually quite excited because I love dressing for winter.

I wanted to share the combination of turtleneck sweaters and tartan skirts. I think it creates a fun, 60's retro feel.

I have styled some looks for you below, to help explore this combination for yourself.

Happy shopping.

I'm wearing Ksubi Sunglasses, Choies.com turtleneck & skirt & Witchery Over The Knee Boots.

Fringe Skirts

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break. I thought what better time to style my cute lace bunny ears than during Easter. I bought them a couple of years back and only recently rediscovered them. I'll have to get them out again during Spring Racing Carnival.

I have styled my bunny ears with a cute fringe skirt which I am obsessed with.  I have attached some other fun fringe skirts at the bottom of this post. The longer options are a great piece for winter, especially styled with a thick knit sweater.

Happy shopping lovely people!
