How to wear White on White

It seems us ladies don't have to wait for our wedding day to be draped in white.  Wearing white all over has become the hot new trend.  Designers showcased this trend on the runway with sheer fabrics,  lazer cutting, embellishments, leather and even crochet. This added intrigue and rich texture to their white on white ensembles.  This Summer trend can easily transcend to the cooler seasons through sleek styling and layering.  Although the trend involves being dressed head to toe in white, I like to include off white/cream in my ensemble particularly with my shoes and bags.  This helps create a new, yet subtle dimension to the look.  In contrary, you might like to dramatize your look through black accessories. 

However, I do warn you, if you're a klutz like me, whilst wearing your white on white look, maybe change your red wine order to white; or your all white look might turn into a dip die disaster.

Mirrored Sunglasses

Hi everyone! You may have noticed the popular eyewear trend to hit the fashion scene: the vibrant reflective shiny lenses.  These edgy yet stylish mirrored sunglasses are the perfect accessory. They immediately create a bold statement and will most definitely brighten up any winter look... Let's ignore the fact that we are approaching winter and sunglasses won't be high on the Needs list. 

These statement sunnies can either jazz up a monochromatic look or can be worn amongst strong prints and embellished pieces.

Layering With Prints

As Melburnians, we have had to develop the art of layering. Having not yet felt the consistent flow of Autumns cooler weather I am finding it difficult to plan my daily outfits. It seems the only way to avoid hot flushes or goosebumps is by layering. 

I wanted to share with you today some ideas on how to layer with different prints. I particularly love layering high collared shirts under either printed sweaters or short sleeve printed tops. It just adds a new dimension and unique touch to your look. When teaming prints together I often consider the most subtle colour in that print and highlight that through adding another printed/solid item or accessory in that same colour.

In my look below I was drawn to the very subtle oxblood flower print on my skirt and tied it in through my shoes and bag as well as my printed shirt layered underneath.

It's fun to clash prints and colours in winter. It creates depth and excitement to your look as well as becoming  a way for you to add your unique sense of style.

OXBLOOD TREND

Hi everyone!I hope you had a lovely weekend. The new rich colour palette to add to your Autumn/Winter wardrobe is Oxblood, also referred to as plum, berry, grape, wine and burgundy. This season oxblood is often seen in soft leathers, velvet and wool. Designers showcased this colour from head to toe on the runway.  Being such a rich colour, you can do this. Start with your lips and work your way down.

I wore the look below at the Vince Camuto Launch at Highpoint. Autumn has not yet hit Melbourne hard so I have toned down my oxblood inspired look focussing more on my accessories; my new Nine West statement suede heels and Portmans clutch. The print on my 1970's vintage jumpsuit (that I had shortened) matched perfectly.
